Expand Your Mind

I don’t know about you, but I know for myself I need to focus my mind towards the direction of thoughts that lift me up rather than leaving me with this weight of worries as the world around us wants to keep me busy with all these negative things to clutter up my mind.

In order for us to combat these worries and prevent them from clinging onto us we have to begin by noticing what we’re noticing about what we think about as we go through our day.

At times I find myself pushing repeat in my head when I really want to hit pause. If I could pause this mental activity, maybe I could organize my thoughts. It would be like cleaning out an old closet and getting rid of what is old and I know I’ll never wear again.

We can do the same with our thoughts. We can discard those old thinking patterns that were wrapped around something that happened in our lives that made a very negative impression on us years ago. These thoughts need to be dislodged and released, but how?

Isn’t funny how a negative, or should I say, “An experience that feels like a failure in our lives can stick in our minds as if held there by glue?”

Many times these images string together pushing away any space for our wins. Why is this? Well, believe it or not it all starts with our self image. We have to understand that we are the image maker of our current reality.

Both Science and theology have proven this to be absolutely TRUE!

Once we recognize this it will change the whole dynamics of our entire lives.

Think about it, this means that we are the ones who prevent or allow ourselves to live the life we would love living. I’ll be sharing with you the relationships and materials I began working with in 2012 that has catapulted my life in a positive direction. My hope is that you, too, will need a telescope to see how far you’ve grown as you strengthen your mental faculties; if you choose to apply this information made available for you as we spend time together.

It all starts in our mind with the image we hold of ourselves! If you would have asked me this when my life was turned upside down and inside out, I would have found this to be very difficult to believe. The German philosopher Johann Wolfgang said it very well, “Before we can do something or anything we must first be something.” This quote is his philosophy on personal development by encouraging us to get a better understanding of one’s self.

But, the truth is, I finally did allow a corner of my mind to open up to the possibility that maybe I could actually create a life I loved living. I turned my focus away from this wrecking ball that seemed to follow me around and leave me with feelings of failure into, “What if?” Now, did I have my good days? Absolutely! But I wanted more than a good day. I wanted a string of good days! I wanted to drive the vehicle I would love. Go to dinner at my favorite restaurants with my family. I wanted to be able to afford my kids school cloths, their sports equipment, choir dresses, instruments, lunches and everything else without worrying about how I would pay for it.

Then when I grew in this arena I wanted to take bigger trips with my family. Buy more of what I loved rather than what I needed, pay my bills without robbing Peter to pay Paul. To buy a vehicle that gave me more comfort rather that a lesser price tag. You can see the growth pattern here.
